Driving innovation and sustainability – a Q&A with Stofix UK’s Head of Technical, Richard Bell

Tell us about your role at Stofix?
I joined Stofix UK in July 2023 as Head of Technical, overseeing our in-house design team consisting of two design managers and five designers. My primary objective since starting at Stofix is to further develop and streamline our processes.
Stofix prides itself on its collaborative culture. How do you foster collaboration between the technical team and other departments to ensure seamless integration and delivery of solutions?
Collaboration is key at Stofix. Our design team works closely with architects and main contractors to ensure the final design aligns with the clients’ requirements, budget and cost-efficiency. We’re investing in our document management system to enhance communication with clients and internal stakeholders.
Innovation is a cornerstone of Stofix’s success. How do you encourage your technical team to push boundaries and explore new technologies to stay ahead in the industry?
Innovation is ingrained in our culture. We’re constantly exploring new software to improve processes and adapt to regulatory changes swiftly. Working closely with suppliers helps us integrate new products into our portfolio faster than competitors, keeping us ahead in our sector.
Sustainability is a priority for Stofix. How does your leadership within the technical team contribute to developing sustainable solutions and practices?
Sustainability is at the forefront of our designs. We focus on designing projects to be energy-efficient, reducing manufacturing time and carbon footprint compared to other systems and traditional brickwork. Additionally, we’re always on the lookout for new materials to enhance the lifespan of our products and contribute towards a greener future.
