Team Insights – Radu designs brick slip facades for Department for Education’s schools rebuild programme
We welcomed Radu Tanef to the Stofix UK design team earlier this year, and he’s already made a big impact. Since joining, Radu has been working on multiple school projects for our valued client, Bowmer + Kirkland, on the Department for Education’s ten-year schools rebuild programme. Radu has already become a valued part of the growing team.
Radu brought six years of design experience to Stofix. Starting a new job in a different country and in a second language from his native Romania could have been challenging, but Radu embraced the opportunity with enthusiasm and determination. When asked what excites him most about his work at Stofix, Radu said, “That would be the fact that I’m working on new schools’ projects – something that makes a positive change in the world.”
Radu has also enjoyed gaining hands-on experience, sharing that his biggest learning moment so far has been going on-site to see the designs come to life. “Seeing the real thing being built is such an eye-opener,” he said.
Supportive team
When reflecting on life at Stofix so far, Radu had nothing but praise for the team: “I managed to “hit the ground running” according to my manager, and that was very satisfying for us all. My colleagues and managers have been very helpful and supportive, and that helped a lot. Stofix is a great place to work, and the team is rapidly growing”.
Fully designed and scheduled
Stofix Group Technical Director Andy McKechnie added, “Stofix remains the only company in our field that fully designs and schedules our brick slip facade product, offering bespoke solutions with our unique panelised system. We have an in-house team of over 15 designers and we take on all design responsibility ensuring our system is designed and detailed to our client’s exact specification. A huge well done to Radu.
